Ah yes, the exams are coming... I'm in now the final week of Uni with an assignment due this Friday, and a few chapters behind for each of my 3 subjects. I shouldn't be the one to complain, considering I've only got 3 subjects and about 1 week to study for them... not too bad I suppose...

Doing all I can to rectify the situation. *gulp*

11:43 PM;

A good day, with much activities and happenings. Studied hard, partied hard, being St. Ann's Valedictory Dinner tonight.. I think the after party is still going on.. thankfully I'm in the other side of the building.. not at all affected by the noise.

Getting quite lazy to post joke-of-the-day... so no joke again today.. hahah...

Today's OCF meeting reminded me of one of the J21 prayer concerts back in Singapore, where we would be inspired to be involved in missions. Indeed, today's service brought back memories of how God wooed me, pursued me, and called me to play my part in His global cause.

I knew nothing back then, but God has shown me many, many things. I am convinced that to a seeking and willing heart, He will answer and reveal.

No joke-of-the-day today my dear readers, but here's a song we used to sing in the J21 prayer concert.. a song I would sob to...

Beautiful
All I am I give to You
With breath I worship You
I pray
Let Your will be done

I stand before You
My heart adores You
In Your hands I place my life
I pray
Let Your will be done

Let us see on earth
The glory of Your son
May I be the one
That You'd use in Your plan
Bring the nations to Your side
Let the kingdoms join in shouts of praise
Let me be the one who brings
The one who brings Your love

Had a chat with God-Pa today over MSN. Haven't spoken to him since.... forget it....

It is really nice to have someone wiser to keep a look out for you. Really, everything he says make sense, even the corny, dirty jokes heheh... So, thanks alot Ian, for the nice chat... We'll catch up again real soon.

Anyway, was reminded of God's faithfulness last night.

I had one of those panic attacks, and panic I did... couldn't do much work. It was then that God reminded me of the sun, of how it rises and sets faithfully, and also Matthew 13:30..

"For my yoke is easy and my burden is light"

What a relief!!!! God's faithfulness, and a light and easy burden... I think I can manage that... (No.. not an excuse to slack..I know, I know...)

Yup, and here is the joke-of-the-day, a short one, I might add...

***The one who makes it, sells it.

The one who buys it, never uses it.

The one that uses it, never knows that he's using it.

What is it?

A coffin.***

Nothing much to say, so here's the joke-of-the-day!

****The minister was preoccupied with thoughts of how he was going to, at the end of the worship service, ask the congregation to come up with more money than they were expecting for repairs to the church building.

Therefore, he was annoyed to find that the regular organist was sick and a substitute had been brought in at the last minute. The substitute wanted to know what to play.

"Here's a copy of the service," he said impatiently. "But you'll have to think of something to play after I make the announcement about the finances."

During the service, the minister paused and said, "Brothers and sisters, we are in great difficulty; the roof repairs cost twice as much as we expected, and we need $4,000 more. Any of you who can pledge $100 or more, please stand up."

At that moment, the substitute organist played the national anthem.

And that is how the substitute became the regular. ****

This day marks a new segment in Snapshots... it will be aptly titled "Joke-of-the-day", put up in aid to bring relief and cheer to all those who are facing the pressures of life...

Disclaimer: I have a lame sense of humour. While the jokes are censored and clean, keep it mind that they will most probably be lame. You have been warned!!!

So without further ado, the joke-of-the-day!!

****There were several men in the locker room of a private club after exercising.
Suddenly a cell phone on one of the benches rings. A man picks it up and the following conversation ensues:

"Hello?"

"Honey, It's me."

"Sugar!"

"Are you at the club?"

"Yes."

"Great! I'm at the mall 2 blocks from where you are. I saw a beautiful mink coat. It is absolutely gorgeous!! Can I buy it?"

"What's the price?"

"Only $1,500."

"Well, okay, go ahead and get it, if you like it that much."

"Ahhh, and I also stopped by the Mercedes dealership and saw the 2004 models. I saw one I really liked. I spoke with the salesman and he gave me a really good price ... and since we need to exchange the BMW that we bought last year..."

"What price did he quote you?"

"Only $60,000!"

"Okay, but for that price I want it with all the options."

"Great! Before we hang up, something else..."

"What?"

"It might seem like a lot, but I was reconciling your bank account and...well, I stopped by to see the real estate agent this morning and I saw the house we had looked at last year. It's on sale!! Remember? The one with a pool, English garden, acre of park area, beachfront property..."

"How much are they asking?"

"Only $450,000... a magnificent price, and I see that we have that much in the bank to cover..."

"Well, then go ahead and buy it, but just bid $420,000. okay?"

"Okay, sweetie. Thanks! I'll see you later!! I love you!!!"

"Bye. I do too."

The man hangs up, closes the phone's flap and raises his hand while holding the phone and asks to all those present, "Does anyone know to whom this phone belongs?" ****

Had my most expensive meal here in Adelaide.

Dinner was roast lamb... which was crap... so Wei Li and I decided to eat out, promptly deciding on Japanese. The nearest Japanese restaurant was about 10 min walk away from college and we decided to give it a go.

The place looks really good, with authentic traditional Japanese music and decorations. It was the sushi train kinda thing... you know, the self-service kind with the sushi on a conveyor belt. The cheapest plate was $3.20... the most expensive being $6.50.

I ended up spending $30... on sushi.. Wei Li was a bit more... extravagant haha...
but we were satisfied.. the sushi were really, really good... so no complains...

Did ZERO work today... haiz............

Spent almost the whole day today with Chok and William. We intended to meet up after lunch to do some studying, but put three boys together and what do you get?... pranks, deep discussions and an aching side...

Was certainly one of the most fun and relaxing days I had in a while =)...

Hope we'll be more productive the next time we meet up.

Yup, taking a break right now. Feeling mentally drained from last night's assignment, which was due today, but that's over now.. taking a well deserved(?) break by playing Warcraft for the past 5 hours!! Muahahah....

Hmm, looking at my time table, I've got another 2 more weeks before my next assignment is due, and after which another week or so before my first paper(!!!)... Thankfully, the exam dates are nicely spread out, which means I'll end later, but thats ok, gotta hang around to look for a place anyways...

Oh well, better get ready for tomorrow...

Hmmm, no comments for the previous post? Oh well, no worries, just trying to make this more interactive. Kinda dull to feel like you are writing to yourself ya know...

Anyways, gotta continue doing my assignment.

So, till the next time I procrastinate or take a break...

Re-reading "Wild at Heart" by John Eldridge. I think I summarised the book in a previous posting by commenting that a man has three things that he desires; an adventure to live, a battle to fight, and a beauty to rescue.

I'd like now to continue on the three things that women desire.
  1. An adventure to be a part of
  2. A yearning to be fought for
  3. A longing to be called the beauty

Is that true ladies??? Post your comments on the tagboard.. gentlemen, you are most certainly welcome to comment as well.. lets get a discussion going....

Played Volleyball today!!!!

It was the annual inter-college volleyball tournaments, and I got to play..... 2 sets!! Thats right!! 2 sets instead of the usual "you'll-sub-me-in-when-i-need-a-break". I actually get to play!! Starting line-up for 2 sets!! Didn't get subbbed out at all!! Big achievement people... I used to play volleyball in high school, but ended being the waterboy...

Anyways, had lots of fun in those brief two sets, and even though St. Ann's didn't win any of the matches, we all had fun. I played my best and managed to spike through a 8 foot player... major, major achievement.. Considering the amount of fun and excitement I had, might just go back to training with the uni team.. but will probably end up being a sub again.. oh well, we'll see....

In any case, applause to the team for rocking up and playing so well!!

Had to leave early from comm meeting though... so, apologies my dearest commies... but the court beckons... don't worry, this only happens once a year...

Went to the pub last night, The Lion, partly because its St. Ann's pub night, but mostly because Wasabi was playing (they're a cool band who performed in St. Ann's a couple of months back).

So, it was a really good atmosphere, with good people and good music, and the Lion is really a classy pub. Anyways.. even with the good vibes and good company, I felt something was missing. I began missing my OCF friends, and I wished that I could just share the atmosphere with them.. but that's highly unlikely.. I mean the pub.. not a place most OCFers would hang out in...

That's why I miss Singapore.

In Singapore, places with such good atmosphere are dime a dozen, and most Christians would hang out in them without feeling a pang of guilt (I'm just assuming here). Cafes are open till 11pm, and the public transport doesn't shut down till 1am. Food centres are open till the same time as well.

Sure, the weather is crap, and the lifestyle is hectic and competitive, but for the food, and city life, and of course, my many friends and family, I would seriously reconsider going back to Singapore.

As You lead Lord, as You lead...

Just read Shintya's blog.. you know what? Being slack is a Goh No family trait. Or either that, we are the odd ones out Shin...

I'm procrastinating right now.. my business finance textbook is open before me, and its still at the same page as it is half an hour ago.. time really flies.

Remind me again why am I studying?

Oh yeah, its a privilege, and mum and dad are paying lots for this... better not let them down..

Lets work hard and make them proud ya Shin?
10:38 PM;

Got this from a Passion Conference '05 promo:

"... phrases like 'living for His glory' can easily lose their meaning, a concept that on any given day is detached from the reality of our lives. Words are cheap. Life is hard. Making our lives count for what matters most is a worthy goal, but a serious preposition and a concept that must be thoroughly absorbed if our lives are going to be shaped by and for His renown."

Respect to the guy who came up with this.
