Snapshots will be undergoing a minor renovation, but thats not due till I get back to Indo, won't have the time to do what I want to do.. so the tagboard will still be called The Scandal Incubator, not that any scandals has been created.. so it should be safe for the time being....

So, what have I been up to? Nothing much really, just being handy around college and the OCF community in helping people shift and move stuff, and also packing my own stuff of course, lots of packing. Went to Koorong today as well, and bought a couple of books, only to realise that I've still got a couple of books to go through. Oh well, shall just leave some of them behind and read them next year.

Busy also with furniture hunting, while the living room of our new place looks posh and cool, the same can't be said of our bedrooms... we each need a study table and I need a wardrobe.. feel like freighting my study table from Singapore... can't wait to move in!!!

Yippeee... it still works.. guess I can safely conclude the bug is fixed!

Anyways, went to Access Adelaide to check my results, and I think I got what I deserved.. 1F 2P.. so I'll have to repeat Business Finance next sem, but I sorta already expected that lah.. and am very relieved and thankful that I managed to scrape through Internet Commerce and Organisational Behaviour.. will surely work harder next sem to achieve excellence!!

Still busy packing... must say I haven't really been spending time listening out for God.. musn't let the holiday mood affect even my faith..

WOOHOOOOOOOOOO! Snapshots is back!!

Finally, after days of being deprived of blogging, I am unleashed!!!!! *dramatic evil laugh + lightning & thunder*

Just a quick update, exams are over, so its procrastination paradise for the time being. Busy with the new house the boys and I are going to move to.. went furniture hunting and stuff.. Paper work for the house is also done, but we could only be able to move in on the 11th Dec. Since both Wei Li and I won't be around, Maha would just have to move everything for us..heheh cheers mate!

Busy also with packing up my room, gotta vacate my current room and move to another one by Monday cuz it'll be cheaper during the break. My room has now hardly any walking space, the floor being littered with cardboard boxes and books and a whole lot of uni work...managed to already discard unnecessary stuff, so the challenge now is to pack them all in... The air-conditioning is also switched on most of the time, temperature being 35 degrees.

Alrighty, back to packing then... hope the bug has been fixed once and for all...

Something's wrong... but I can't seem to pin-point it. There's this turmoil, a mixed emotion of frustration and impatience.. but at what??? And for what reason??? This is irking me... hope it doesn't affect my paper tomorrow...

Tsk tsk.. I think I should now seriously re-name my blog.. what do you all think of "The Scandal Generator"?

I got quite bored this afternoon in the library, and so decided to write some testimonials in Friendster.. for those whom I have not written anything, fret not, it will be done!

Today also marks my youngest sister, Shanny's 11th birthday! So, I shall talk a little about her today.

Never was really close to Shanny since I grew up in Singapore and she in Banjarmasin. She spoke Bahasa Indo, and I spoke mainly English, so never really communicated well with her while she was growing up.. very grateful for Shintya, who could fluently speak both languages and thus was sort of the translator for us.. heheh...

Shanny is our family pride. While Shin and I are lazy slackers, Shan is choleric and hardworking. She pushes herself really hard and has always been in the top positions in school. Makes me wonder if she really is the genius that she is, or that she just hasn't got any rivals in school. Shan has also represented the state, just a few weeks ago in some competition, in which, she did well.

She has a shelf full of trophies, 10 at last count if I'm not mistaken, won in art competitions. She apparently also has a secret admirer in school.. just a rumour I heard from Shintya. This just goes to show Shanny isn't a geek, but a belle in school as well...

"What the heck happen to you then?"

Well, can't really answer this question, guess it was just the way we were brought up heheh.. but I'm really proud of Shanny, and am confident that she will grow up to be a fine, young, promising lady. Happy birthday, Shan..

Love,
Kor Handy
(Shin help me translate for her ah.. heheh)

A timely word of wisdom and rebuke from Proverbs.

"Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise! It has no commander, no overseer or ruler, yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest. How long will you lie there, you sluggard? When will you get up from your sleep? A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest- and poverty will come on you like a bandit and scarcity like an armed man."
Proverbs 6:5-11

Time to get back to work....

Quite alot has been happening recently, from exams (which really isn't such a big deal if you think about it..) to the hospitalisation of a friend.

I've begin to see how fragile life really is, you really never know what might happen next. Shit always happens (pardon my french..), and we never really know the reason why. John 9:1-5 gives us a clue...

As he (Jesus) went along, he saw a man blind from birth. His disciples asked Him,"Rabbi (meaning teacher), who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?"
"Neither this man nor his parents sinned," said Jesus, "but this happened so that the work of God might be displayed in His life. As long as it is day, we must do the work of Him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work. While I am in the world, I am the light of the world."

What a story!

Awoke this morning with a sense of calmness, and peace. I clearly heard God whispered to my heart "I believe in you.." and this passage followed:

"Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us..." Romans 12:1

I guess that was what gave me the courage to sit for the Business Finance paper in the afternoon. It was a strange emotion... knowing that you are going to fail, yet so accepting of it, and wanting to just press on, pushing against all odds, even though knowing it was futile. Many tried to comfort me, saying I'll make it (and for which I'm grateful for), but really, I was really, really calm and relaxed about it...

I guess my parents being supportive of me irregardless of my failures helped. But more so, the unconditional love of God.

May you be able to grasp the depth and width of that love He has for you....

Righto... today being a Sunday, I've decided to take a break from studying in Uni, and instead study in my room, considering also I've only got a few weeks left here in Middle Barnes, room 326....

Hope I'll be able to get much done.. first paper in 2 days time!!!

No joke-of-the-day today...(at this rate, I think I should consider changing it to joke-of-the-week.)

Yup... 20 years and 2 days old.... still busy revising/cramming for the coming exams.. but was really warmed by all those who took time to celebrate with me... thanks alot guys!(and gals..), was really blessed by that..

Even in the midst of the busyness, I am thankful that God still speaks.

In a nutshell, I've come to see that I've been an irresponsible servant (Matt 25:1-30), not honouring my Master with what He had given me, namely Studies and Ministry. With this in mind, I shall endeavour to excel in this two areas before I take up any more commitments relationally. This is my vow.

Be patient with me everyone, I need to make the same mistake 10 times before I learn something from it... I'll try to cut it down to 2...=)

Anyway, on a lighter note, here's the joke-of-the-day... which happens to be about the exams!!

***It was the final examination for an introductory English course at a university. Like many such freshman courses, it was designed to weed out new students, having over 800 students in the class. The examination was two hours long, and exam booklets were provided. The professor was very strict and told the class that any booklet that was not on his desk in exactly two hours would not be accepted and the student would fail.

Half an hour into the exam, a student came rushing in and asked the professor for an exam booklet.

"You're not going to have time to finish this," the professor said, as he handed the student a booklet.

"Yes I will," replied the student. He then took a seat and began writing.

After two hours, the professor called for the exams and the students filed up and handed them in--all except the late student, who continued writing.

Half an hour later, the last student came up to the professor who was sitting at his desk preparing for his next class. He attempted to put his exam on the stack of exam booklets already there.

"Oh, no you don't! I'm not going to accept that. It's late."

The student looked incredulous and angry, "Do you know who I am?"

"No, as a matter of fact, I don't," replied the professor with an air of sarcasm in his voice.

"DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM?!" the student asked again.

"No, and I don't care," replied the professor with an air of superiority.

"Good," replied the student, who quickly lifted the stack of completed exams, stuffed his in the middle, and briskly walked out of the room.***

Stop the search, cancel it... I repeat, call off the search... Handy has been found....

Thats right!! I'm back... from the land of Business Finance (it doesn't make sense) and Organisational Behaviour(its common sense.. but I don't seem to have it..) and I'm well and very much alive (though I can't say the same for my brain)

Apologies to all those awaiting the joke-of-the-day... here it is!!

I shall try to blog as much as I can...

***A wise old gentleman retired and purchased a modest home in the summer near a junior high school. He spent the first few weeks of his retirement in peace and contentment.
Then a new school year began. The very next afternoon three young boys full of youthful afterschool enthusiasm came down his street beating merrily on every trash can they encountered. The crashing percussion continued day after day, until finally the wise old man decided it was time to take some action.

The next afternoon, he walked out to meet the young percussionists as they banged their way down the street. Stopping them, he said, "You kids are a lot of fun. I like to see you express your exuberance like that. I used to do the same thing when I was your age. Will you do me a favor? I'll give you each a dollar if you'll promise to come around every day and do your thing."
The kids were elated and continued to do a bang-up job on the trash cans. A few days later, the wily retiree approached them again as they drummed their way down the street. "Look" he said, "I haven't received my Social Security (pension) check yet, so I'm not going to be able to give you more than 25 cents. Will that be okay?"

"A lousy quarter?!" the drum leader exclaimed. "If you think we're going to waste our time beating these cans around for a quarter, you're nuts! No way, mister. We quit!"
And the old man enjoyed peace and serenity for the rest of his days.***
